Privacy Policy
Effective 19 August 2026
Sanad (“Sanad,” “we,” “us”) is operated as a sole proprietorship by Vishal Rane. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use Sanad to draft a Will, Power of Attorney, or other document, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.
What we collect
To generate your document, we collect what you enter into the wizard: your name, date of birth, contact details, marital and family details, information about your beneficiaries, executors and witnesses, details of your assets, and — only if you choose to enter it — your PAN. We also keep a record of your account (mobile number, email) and of payments made (amount, status, and a reference ID from our payment partner — never your card or UPI details, which we never see or store).
We do not currently collect your Aadhaar number anywhere on this platform.
Why we collect it
Solely to generate the legal document you've asked for, to let you access and download it, and to communicate with you about your account (sign-in codes, support replies, and — only where you've chosen to share a copy — sending it to someone you've named). We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell it to anyone.
Who we share it with
Only the third parties needed to run the service: our payment gateway, to process your payment (they receive what's needed to complete the transaction, not your document contents), and our email provider, to deliver messages from us to you. Neither is permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
How it's protected
Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) between your browser and our servers, and encrypted at rest by our infrastructure providers. Access is limited to what's needed to operate the service. Payments are handled entirely by our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway partner — we never receive or store your card, UPI, or bank details.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account and documents remain active, so you can return to edit or re-download them. If you ask us to delete your account and data, we'll do so within a reasonable time, except where we're required to retain limited records (e.g. payment records) to meet our own legal or tax obligations.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you can ask us to let you access the personal data we hold about you, correct it if it's wrong, or erase it and your account entirely. To exercise any of these, contact our Grievance Officer below — we'll acknowledge your request within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days.
